2. Eli Manning, Quarterback
I know there will be people who cringe when I put Eli Manning this high on the list. There are two types of Giants fans. First you have the people who appreciate Manning and than you have those who will do anything to separate the credit from the two-time Super Bowl MVP.
Manning has been a good quarterback in the NFL for a long time. In the NFL you cannot win without a franchise passer. Eli Manning’s importance to the Giants is unmatched by any other player. Without Manning’s clutch play, Tom Coughlin’s tenure would be cut short and the Giants trophy case would be a little less shiny. You cannot separate Manning from the success.
Has he been perfect, no. Sometimes he has been awful, there is nothing uglier than Manning’s bad day. Though he has been what this team has needed. He is a franchise quarterback who can get hot at any time and plays well in the big moments. You don’t have to be perfect to be a Giants legend. Manning is a borderline Hall of Fame candidate, and he is of course the “Patriot Killer” under center.
