3rd Round: Za’Darius Smith | DE | Kentucky

This is a player who made the most of his time at the Senior Bowl and the East-West Shrine game. Smith is quick off the edge and has a lot of untapped potential. He is the kind of player Giants defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo, loves. He is a feisty defensive end with a high motor.

Smith has worked himself into the 3rd round conversation. He has the physical tool set, that is unquestioned. He is 6’6″ and 263 lbs. He can use both power and speed to get to the passer. Smith needs more polish as a run defender.

This Giants mock draft is going swimmingly. So far, the Giants have drafted 3 starters in the front 7 of their defense. They are drafting for need as well as getting great value with each selection.

Next: 4th Round: Donovan Smith | OT | Penn State
