Superman: Lawrence Taylor
This pairing was as easy to recognize as Clark Kent’s pitiful disguise. Lawrence Taylor’s own teammates began calling him Superman –and suggested that his locker be converted into a phone booth– during his very first training camp in 1981. That year, while Christopher Reeve was smashing box office records with Superman II, LT was trashing quarterbacks during his rookie campaign in Metropolis. Five years later, Taylor sported a Superman Giants jersey prior to flying the G-Men to a victory in Super Bowl XXI.
