38. Washington Redskins: Derron Smith, FS (Fresno State)
Making an all Fresno State backend of the defense, Smith will join strong safety Phillip Thomas with the Redskins. Smith is a ball-hawking free safety with great athletic ability. As a 5th year senior, Smith finished his collegiate experience with 15 interceptions.
Smith has the ability to turn defense into offense. In both 2013 and 2012 he had over 100 interception return yards and one touchdown. Smith is a risk taker in the secondary, but he has a knack for finding the football.
The Redskins need a difference maker. This is exactly what they will get in Derron Smith. The Redskins are loving life in this mock draft.
