5. Devin McCourty Will Be Wearing Purple

McCourty wants to be a New England Patriot. The Patriots may want him back, but they did not use the franchise tag on him. McCourty will as a result hit the open market. The Baltimore Ravens will reel in the big named free agent.

This makes sense on both the player’s side and the Ravens side. McCourty would likely have an opportunity for revenge against the Patriots, for not wanting him back badly enough. The Ravens seem to play the Patriots in the playoffs almost every season. The Ravens desperately need help at the safety position.

The Ravens don’t usually make a big splash in free agency. They like to retain the players they value and make sensible signings that go under the radar. This however is a team that is close to returning to the Super Bowl. They gave the eventual champion Patriots all they could handle and then some almost beating them in the playoffs.

They won a playoff game in Pittsburgh with the worst secondary unit the team has ever had. The Ravens will make a big move at a position of need.
