1. Make a statement

I am a sincere believer in the importance and power of a front office in making statement to its fans and players. Signing Suh would set New York on fire, I believe it would immensely energize a Giants fan base dying to bask in success yet again.

This would not be the Jets signing Tim Tebow. This would not be a move strictly made to sell more tickets, but that doesn’t mean that doing as such would be a bad thing. An NFL general manager cannot make trades/signings with his sole motivation being to energize his fan base, but if you collaterally accomplish this to go along with bringing in a great player, I believe it’s an added plus.

Signing Suh would energize New York, it would energize Giant fans, it would energize Giants players. If you can accomplish the latter, while signing a transcendent player, you do it.
