I’d be lying if I told you that this would be an exciting move. Helu has not really produced much as a running back with the Giants divisional foe, the Washington Redskins. That being said, he has been playing second fiddle at the running back position in each of his 4 seasons.

In 2014, Helu only got 40 carries but he made the most of them. With 216 yards, he averaged 5.4 yards per attempt. He may not be a number one rusher, but he has had few opportunities to prove he can be one.

At the very worst, Helu is an affordable option that would add depth to the running back position. Helu, Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams would be asked to produce in a running back by committee kind of arrangement.
