10. Vic Beasley DE/OLB (Clemson)
They used to call the great Titans pass defensive end Jevon Kearse “The Freak.” This is a nickname that would be well suited for Vic Beasley, the superstar pass rusher from Clemson. Beasley can strike fear into any quarterback.
His size, strength and speed make him a tough assignment for any offensive tackle. The NFL Combine could have been renamed the Beasley clinic. He ran a 4.53 second 40 yard dash, bench pressed 35 reps and had a vertical jump of 41 inches. He may be the best overall athlete in this entire draft class.
His statistics reflect this. Beasley came on the scene in his sophomore season with 8 tackles for a loss and 8 sacks. In 2013 he had an incredible 23 tackles for a loss and 13 sacks. In his senior season he had 21.5 tackles for a loss and 12 sacks.
The resume is perfect for Beasley. I don’t think there is a player whose combine results better match his statistics. Every way you slice it, Beasley is a great player.
