12. Dante Fowler Jr., OLB (Florida)
Dante Fowler Jr. is an incredible athlete, who beats tackles off the edge like the Wolf of Wall Street sold penny stocks to the gullible. With Fowler Jr.’s 6-3 261 pound frame and his incredible burst off the line of scrimmage, it just isn’t fair.
Fowler Jr. had 8.5 sacks and 15 tackles for a loss in 2014. In the past two seasons he has forced 5 fumbles. While Ray and Beasley saw more production in their college career, Fowler Jr. may have the most upside out of all the pass rushers in this draft class.
Fowler Jr. ran a 4.6 second 40 yard dash at the combine. His 19 reps on the bench press suggest that he could bulk up a bit and gain some upper body strength. He has the length and the quickness to be a dominant force at the outside linebacker position in the 3-4 defense.
His draft stock is elevated because he is a low risk draft pick. He has a high floor and unlimited potential. In the worst case scenario he is a good player who needs coaching to become a great player. You won’t regret your favorite team getting Fowler Jr.
