16. Benardrick McKinney, LB (Miss St.)

Benardrick McKinney could play each linebacker position if he had too, but he is a middle linebacker. He has true sideline to sideline speed and plays the game fast, without hesitation. He is a textbook tackler who puts on quite a good show on the football field.

The 6-4 246 pound McKinney ran a 4.66 second 40 yard dash. McKinney has explosive lower body strength which is shown in his 40.5 inch vertical jump and his 121 inch broad jump. This is an athlete that can do just about anything on the defensive front 7.

He is a disciplined linebacker who makes few mistakes, but when he makes a mistake he does it in full speed. There is not much not to love about his game. Nobody is perfect and you could nitpick aspects of his game, but he is going to be a productive player from the first day of his rookie season.

In three seasons with Mississippi State, McKinney has 122 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for a loss, and 7.5 sacks. In 2014 he had 71 total tackles, 8 tackles for a loss and 3 sacks. He is a good blitzing linebacker and he has the athletic ability to not be a liability in pass coverage.
