17. Marcus Peters, CB (Washington)

Marcus Peters is a physical cornerback with balls skills. This is a player who has some red flags. Peters has had troubles with coaches and has off the field concerns. Peters compares to Jimmy Smith, who was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2011. Like Smith, Peters has character concerns that cloud his first round worthy resume.

Peters is 6-0 and weighs 190 pounds. He has ideal size and has the physical tool set to be successful in the NFL. In 3 years with the Washington Huskies, Peters has 11 interceptions. In 2014 he played in just 9 games, he defended 7 passes and had 3 interceptions.

Peters has the ability to be a dominant cornerback, especially in a situation that takes advantage of his aggressive style. With Peters, talent and physical ability is not the question.

If Peters can go to the right situation, he can be successful. He is a risk but he is clearly the second most talented cornerback in a good draft class at that position. Peters needs a good locker room with a strong authority type as a head coach.
