20. Melvin Gordon, RB (Wisconsin)

It seems that every day, I hear people on NFL Network and ESPN say that this will be the year that a running back is once again selected in the first round. Let me be yet another person that echoes this argument, because Melvin Gordon is that good. The Wisconsin running back at times seemed unstoppable in 2014.

In the 2014 season he rushed for 2,487 yards. There are many running backs in college football that don’t get that many yards for a career and Gordon did that in a season. He had 4,915 yards total in his career as a Wisconsin Badger.

Gordon could be the next Adrian Peterson. He is a powerful runner with good vision, and the speed and agility to make people miss. Gordon will be a star in the NFL.

Running backs are devalued in the NFL, because they don’t last long and they are replaceable. Gordon, however is here to show the football world that a star running back is worth a first round investment.
