2. Leonard Williams, DE (USC)
Williams is the most complete defensive player in this draft class. He can rush the passer, he can stuff the run and he can play in any defensive front. He is simply talented to a point where it almost isn’t fair.
There is a reason that Williams is being predicted to go to the Tennessee Titans with the second pick of the draft by many. Outside of a franchise QB, there is no player more valuable than this defensive end. The world has fallen in love with J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans; and this is the closest thing the NFL Draft has seen since Watt came out of Wisconsin.
Williams has a strong bull rush. He can win off the edge, keeping his balance at angles that would make Olympic ice skaters jealous. He can convert power into speed and he has a knack for the swim move, the rip and the Dwight Freeney like spin move. He is the Swiss army knife of pass rushers.
Williams has a long 6-5 frame and weighs in at 300 pounds. He had 21 sacks and 36.5 tackles for a loss, in three seasons with the USC Trojans.
