Today we are putting Jerry Reese on trial in the court of public opinion. Is he the main culprit of the Giants recent struggles? Has he done an adequate job in the NFL draft? What has he done right and what has he done wrong in the drafting process? These are all questions that we must answer today.

The NFL Draft is the most important duty for an NFL general manager. While he may have a staff of scouts, coaches and draft experts, the decisions are on the GM. Therefore the credit and the blame lie on his shoulders as well.

We are going to answer every question proposed above, right here and right now. By grading each of Reese’s draft classes, we can essentially give him a grade on his biggest obligation. There is no place in the NFL for a general manager who can’t draft well.

Now the question that sums it all up, that piles every reservation we have in applauding the Giants general manager into one sentence is this: Has Reese shown that he can consistently make sound decisions in the NFL Draft?
