2015 NFL Draft: 5 Prospects I’m Not Sold On

4. Arik Armstead, DT (Oregon)

Arik Armstead stands tall at 6-7. He weighs 292 pounds and has the long arms and powerful legs you want in a defensive tackle. Armstead has every ounce of potential imaginable but I have my reservations, calling him a first round talent.

From a production stand point, I’d like to see more from a defensive tackle. It is one thing to look at his physical ability and say he could be dominant, it is quite another thing to look at his production on the field and say, where is it?

In three seasons at Oregon Armstead has totaled 87 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for a loss and 4 sacks. That is less production than Danny Shelton, Malcolm Brown and Eddie Goldman.

While Armstead may have the same potential as the others, it is clear that he will not have the same immediate impact in his rookie season as the other top defensive tackles will. Armstead is a boom or bust pick, in my opinion.

Next: Dorial Green-Beckham, WR (Oklahoma)
