New England Patriots Report Card: C+

As we continue our grading, we go down to the defending Super Bowl Champions, the New England Patriots. It’s safe to say that their free agency moves have been less than spectacular. Two of their primary defensive weapons have wandered off to the market, which are Wilfork and cornerback Darrelle Revis

The champs just don’t look the same as they did last year, however free safety Devin McCourty isn’t going anywhere as the Pats locked him up this off-season. Not only did Revis and Wilfork skip town, but so did versatile running back Shane Vereen, linebackers Akeem Ayers, Jonathan Casillas, and cornerback Brandon Browner.

You have to wonder what the Patriots’ gameplay is now as they signed Chandler, Dorsey, Gibson, Sheard and defensive back Chimdi ChekwaThe Patriots defensive unit is definitely in doubt and now they’re going to have fight for that AFC East title.

The Patriots don’t look so powerful without Revis, Wilfork or Browner and now they need to do something about it. It’s believed that the Patriots were all-in with McCourty and might do some light shopping in the remaining off-season.
