New Orleans Saints Report Card: B-
We go back down to the south to New Orleans Saints. With only two signings in the past week, the Saints have brought in some solid talent with Spiller in the back and Browner in the secondary.
They had to say goodbye to inside linebacker Lofton Curtis who was useful in that defensive unit. Also departing NOLA is Walker and cornerback Corey White. Despite signing Spiller, the Saints brought back powerful running back Mark InGram to split time between them.
Two of the Saints’ signings are top-notch and could be benefit them in the long run. Browner gives that leadership in the secondary and Spiller gives them stability. They would have gotten a high grade if they didn’t unexpectedly trade away tight end Jimmy Graham.
In a move that might come back to haunt them, letting go of Graham was mainly done for salary cap reasons which is just a natural part of the business. It will remain to be seen how his departure will impact the Saints come next season.
