Chicago Bears Report Card: B
We’ll move onto the Chicago Bears who have made some solid signings in the first week of free agency. They’ve managed to steal veteran safety Antrel Rolle from the New York Giants. They also powered up the defense with McPhee in the linebacker position.
The Bears’ free agency thus far has been impressive with those two signings and even the signature of wide out Eddie Royal is a solid one. Royal could be a No. 1 or No. 2 on that receiving unit, so bringing him to Chicago was solid.
The departure that hurt the Bears a little was defensive tackle Stephen Paea, who at times anchored the line. They also let go of free safety Chris Conte as Rolle is now the top dog in that secondary.
In the first wave of free agency, Chicago managed to bring in consistent performers which is exactly what they need at the moment. You will possibly see more movement from them in the coming weeks.
