Cincinnati Bengals Report Card: B-
Next we have the Cincinnati Bengals who have made some nice and quiet signings. The low key signing of the free agency was linebacker A.J. Hawk which is a great addition for the Bengals. Now they have a brand name in that defense and one of the toughest linebackers out there.
In addition to Hawk, they’ve acquired defensive end Michael Johnson from Tampa Bay. The Bengals’ free agency hasn’t been much, but those two signings definitely boost their defense, especially from last year. They did however lose guard Clint Boling and tackle Eric Winston to the market, but I don’t think it’ll matter much.
The only question that Bengals face is their unsigned players and what’s going to happen. The list happens to be more than 10 or so and they need to move fast if they want to keep them. Out of the unsigned players is tight end Jermain Gresham and you can predict that teams are going after him.
The Bengals have most definitely made a statement with Hawk and Johnson, but if they want to improve their grade then they need to make more moves. They need to work that list of unsigned players or they’ll be in trouble this summer.
