Cleveland Browns Report Card: C
Next we move onto the Cleveland Browns and their free agency hasn’t been who they signed, but who they lost. Their key component which was tight end Jordan Cameron has left them along with quarterback Brian Hoyer. The Browns have the potential to become contenders, but it’s hard when vital players such as Cameron and Hoyer are not on the roster.
They’ve looked towards the defensive side this past week with the signings of veteran defensive tackle Randy Starks and cornerback Tramon Williams. They will no doubt give them a boost, but it’s going to be hard without outside linebacker Jabaal Sheard and cornerback Buster Skrine.
The loss of Hoyer could be good for wonderboy Johnny Manziel, but they’ve added Thad Lewis to the quarterback race. The Browns free agency so far has been up and down. They also have some unsigned players that they need to check on including wide receiver Miles Austin who is always useful.
The Browns are always the team that try to make a push in the free agent market. This year’s free agency for them has been just OK, so they need to push the envelope if they want to turn some heads this season.
