3. Are The Redskins Thinking QB, And Do They Trade RG3 If They Are?

The Washington Redskins are not assumed to be in the Mariota sweepstakes but their quarterback situation is bleak enough to make me think they could be. Add this on to the evident riff between head coach Jay Gruden and quarterback Robert Griffin III and it makes even more sense.

The Redskins are probably thinking that Mariota is their best chance at success in 2015. Though I doubt they would trade up from the fifth spot to take him. If he is there, I think the Redskins will take him.

Let’s just run through the hypothetical situation where the Redskins take Mariota. This would mean the end of the RG3 era in our nation’s capital. The Redskins would trade Griffin III for whatever they could get, trying to get back some of what they lost getting him in the first place.

Just because a previous general manager and head coach traded way too much for Griffin III, this does not mean the Redskins can’t go after another quarterback. If Mariota falls to the fifth draft pick, I respect him to be a member of the Redskins.
