8. Josh Shaw, CB (USC)

Sticking with the cornerback position, Josh Shaw is a risk for three separate reasons. The first is that he missed a significant amount of time in 2014 because he sprained his ankles. The second reason is that he lied about how he sprained his ankles which brings up character concerns. The third reason he is a risk is that he is not a great cornerback but he is a great athlete.

Shaw jumped off a balcony into a swimming pool to save a life…or at least that was what we were lead to believe. Shaw then admitted that this was a lie. The truth is rather ugly and it involves police and domestic violence…an NFL nightmare.

Shaw not only had his character get scrutinized by his actions and his fib, but he limited his chances to show NFL scouts what kind of football player he is. Shaw is a speedy corner with off the charts athletic ability. Yet he is a bit undersized, and is incredibly raw.

Drafting Shaw means that taking a chance on a unpolished defensive back with alarming character concerns. Shaw is a major risk and he could be a coaches project.
