3. He’s Not a Quarterback

I can’t say I came up with this theory myself, but rather from one of the few people I idolize in sports media, and that is Colin Cowherd. He always talks about what kind of behavior he looks for in his quarterback compared to any other position on the field.

A certain image needs to be constructed as a quarterback, whether its wearing your hat on forwards, saying the right things to the media, and other upstanding leadership qualities. From other positions those qualities are simply not as vital.

You don’t see Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers showing off their shoe collection on Instagram, I mean do Eli or Peyton Manning even have social media accounts? For quarterbacks its a different story, but an Outside linebacker? Go for it! As long as he gets to the quarterback why would I care about his image? He’s not the one leading a franchise.
