2. The Giants Have Structure
I asked some Giants fans about what how they felt about the team possibly selecting Gregory with the 9th pick, and almost everyone brought up the likes of Josh Gordon and Justin Blackmon. People, this isn’t Cleveland or Jacksonville, both of which are poorly run, low self-esteem franchises. This is the New York Giants.
This franchise has prided themselves on having excellent structure and character. Gregory has immense talent, and although the Giants went with a very “clean” draft strategy last year (selecting a team captain with every draft pick) I think they can quickly guide Gregory back in the right direction and fully utilize his skill set.
Tom Coughlin is still a no nonsense leader and will have none of Gregory’s immaturity considering the amount of stock the team would be putting into him. The Giants organization has created an environment that has no time for stupidity.
There are high expectations once you walk in the doors, and those expectations would extend to Gregory within his first day with the franchise.
