10. Landon Collins, SS (Alabama)

One of my favorite pleasures in life is sitting down on a Saturday afternoon and watching college football. I often watch the Alabama Crimson Tide, whose games are so frequently on television. Landon Collins was one of my favorite players to watch the past two seasons.

Collins is a rare talent at the strong safety position. When you combine his impressive speed with his high football IQ, you get a player who can make plays all over the football field. He plays fast and furious and like the movies, what he can accomplish physically almost doesn’t seem possible.

Collins is a hard hitting strong safety with the versatility of Troy Polamalu and the physicality of Kam Chancellor. I laugh at the idea that the 9th overall pick is too high for a safety. Until recently drafting a guard at the 9th pick was laughable but many are clamoring for the Giants to take Brandon Scherff.

If the Giants draft Collins, he will be an absolute beast for the Giants. He will help in both run defense and pass defense. He will fill a desperate need and he could be a starter for a long time. The majority of Giants fans were sad to see Antrel Rolle go, but Collins could be better than Rolle was… in his prime.
