Overall, while some mock drafts have the Browns trading these draft picks and more to trade up and try to make a run at Mariota, I just don’t see it happening. The Browns will settle for bringing back the tradition of a top-notch power running game to lead the way come next season and beyond.

It’s been a long time that the Cleveland Browns deployed an effective and efficient running game. Since the Browns previously took Scherff earlier in the draft, they will once again go with an offensive pick. This time however, it’ll be for a premiere running back in Todd Gurley.

Gurley is a natural born power running back with excellent speed, the ability to break tackles and can also contribute nicely in kickoff/punt returns. He’s versatile in that he can do either of the aforementioned and truly be a difference-maker for the Browns.
