As we slowly approach the 2015 NFL Draft, it’s time to rank the top five linebackers entering the draft. The linebacker position is a unique one at the most and drafting a linebacker is always crucial. A solid strong linebacker could carry the whole defense as we seen in history, one of the best athletes have played in the position.
Starting with New York Giants’ legend Lawrence Taylor as one of the best ever, Baltimore Ravens’ Ray Lewis falls next and the list of big names go on and on. This year’s linebacker stock is a stellar one as many names pop out, but we’re going to narrow it down to the wire.
It’s always hard finding that right linebacker as they need to possess not only talent, but aggressiveness and passion. Without these traits, a team’s defense could falter mentally without having that explosive linebacker to lead the unit. These five linebackers all look promising and seem to have the ability to make it to the NFL.
