3. Eli Harold, Virginia, OLB
Next on our list is Virginia’s outside linebacker/defensive end Eli Harold. This underclassman has the ability to play both positions and is explosive in both. With his burst from the snap and long striding acceleration, Harold can pounce on anyone that comes his way. Every team would want an athlete that can play on the line and off of it. Harold is projected to go in the first round as he shows all the tools and an engine that just never gives up.
He’s always going full speed until he hears the whistle, which is something every team looks for in a player. The only aspect that Harold needs to work on is his body strength. His upper and lower body are lanky for the linebacker position, but once Harold gets some strength training, he will be a force, both at linebacker and defensive end.
Harold has started all 24 games for the Cavaliers and posted up 36.5 tackles for loss and 17.5 sacks. Harold needs to find a team that will keep him in one position as Virginia bounced him around back and forth. There’s some speculation that the Washington Redskins could look into the services of Harold, but whether its them or another team, it’s going to be in the first round.
Next: 2. Vic Beasley, Clemson, OLB
