17. Brandon Scherff, OT/OG (Iowa)

Brandon Scherff, is a dominating run blocker whose technique and footwork is absolutely flawless. He does tend to struggle with speed off the edge. He strikes me as a Pro Bowl caliber guard at the next level.

Scherff is very capable of making blocks in the second level of the defense. He has the athletic ability to reach his block quickly and plow him out of the way. Scherff would be perfect for the zone blocking scheme, a big guard who can move.

Scherff has the size, strength and technique to be a great guard in the NFL. This is a player who has been mock drafted to the Giants many a times over the last couple of months.

While I think that the 9th overall pick in too high to take Scherrf, he is an exceptional football player.
