34. Michael Bennett, DT (OSU)

This is one of those players that I keep moving up the GMENHQ Big Board. It looks like Bennett will be a dominant player in the trenches on NFL Sundays. For a 4-3 defense I absolutely love Bennett, though he has the ability to play in either front. The Ohio State Buckeyes won it all last season for a reason, they were the toughest up front. Bennett is an absolute beast at the line of scrimmage.

Bennett is a 6-2 293 pound defensive tackle with a high football IQ. He doesn’t over pursue and he doesn’t take himself out of the play. He is a penetrating defender who is best suited to be a 3 technique. As any great 4-3 defense knows, a disruptive player who makes a fool out of the offensive guard regularly is very important.

Bennett has a toughness about him that I really like. He never stops moving his feet and he wins the leverage battle at the line of scrimmage. There is very little not to like about Bennett’s game.

Bennett is great value in the beginning of the second round. I have Bennett ranked as my fourth best defensive tackle.
