43. Carl Davis, DT (Iowa)

Carl Davis is a 3-4 nose guard that can be the anchor of the entire defense. He is a gigantic 6-5 320 pound defensive tackle. Davis is a run stuffer who will demand double teams upfront. He is similar to Danny Shelton, however he has nowhere near the explosive quickness of Shelton.

Davis wins with good pad level and lower body strength that could at least budge mountains. While he may not sprint to far past you, I’d doubt you’d like to block Davis. Davis is a smart football player who knows his responsibility. This man was born to two-gap.

Davis will keep blockers off linebackers. He will bounce the running game outside, not letting inside rushers get a full head of steam. While he isn’t a dominant pass rusher, I wouldn’t leave him unblocked because he does have some straight-line speed.

To the right defense I can see Davis being a dominant player. He has the size, length and power to compete with any offensive lineman.
