45. Devin Funchess, WR (Michigan)

I can’t decide how I feel about Devin Funchess. In my final big board, I have Funchess as a middle of the 2nd round draft pick. Funchess is a really big bodied wide receiver with unbelievable athletic ability. He has the ability to be a great player but he is kind of stuck in between being a receiver and a tight end.

He has good speed for a tight end but just okay speed for a receiver. He has a tight end build but he is surely not a blocker and he isn’t the most physical player in the world. Funchess is a good player, he will produce. He is a commodity, a nice to have kind of guy but not a team changing draft selection.

At Michigan he had 60 receptions for 733 yards and 4 touchdowns. Funchess is one of those players that flashes greatness but only gives you good. There are better options at wide receiver, though he would be the first tight end on my board if that’s where you have him pegged.

This is an interesting player. He has a lot of potential but isn’t a sure thing and therefore the second round is his home.
