48. Arik Armstead, DT (Oregon)

The more I looked at Arik Armstead the less and less I saw a first round player. I think he has potential, so if you take him higher than 48 I can’t fault you. I just haven’t seen enough of him to merit a first round selection.

Armstead is an explosive player with great length. He has pass rushing skills, which is rare for an interior defensive lineman. There are few players that have his skill set, so I do understand the intrigue.

Armstead however has too lean of a frame and wasn’t productive enough for me. I see the potential but I want to see him be a dominant player. I think he will turn out to be a really solid player, just not the star some project him to be.

This is one area in which my big board is different than the masses. Armstead is a solid player worthy of a second round selection
