MSU. Trae Waynes. 10. player. 51.
The Rams play in the NFC West, the division of shutdown cornerbacks. The Cardinals have Patrick Peterson, and of course the Seahawks have Richard Sherman. Trae Waynes is the Rams addition to this great division of secondary play in the NFL. Waynes is the ideal athlete, the prototype NFL corner. He has the length, cover skills and recovery speed to shut down an entire half of the field.

Waynes is the best cornerback in this draft class. The 6-0 186 pound defensive back ran a 4.31 second 40 yard dash at the NFL combine. He was hardly tested last year, as he has built a reputation for making opponents pay.

Waynes had three interceptions in the 2015 season. The Michigan State cornerback is the most NFL ready and he has the physical tool set to challenge the NFL’s best receivers on day 1.

Surely there will be some growing pains for Waynes. Coming into the NFL as a defensive back where the rules are so against you isn’t an easy transition. That being said this is a long term investment with a high ceiling and a high floor.
.
