The Miami Dolphins traded back to the 17th spot to draft a superstar rusher. They knew Gurley would be available at the 17th pick, and that they would get the first crack at drafting a running back this NFL Draft. This isn’t an indictment on the Dolphins running backs, as much as it is an acknowledgment that none of them are game changers.

Gurley is without a doubt a game changer. He has the power of Adrian Peterson and the moves of Barry Sanders. He is a once in a lifetime player who will dominate in the NFL if he can stay healthy. Gurley is a running back who can do it all and can take the football all the way to the end zone on any play.

The Dolphins need playmakers on the offensive side of the football. They cannot simply rely on the short and intermediate passing game. They need to have a dominant rushing attack to compliment it.

As for the big picture of the draft, how fun is this. The Chargers make a bold move to get Shcerff. The Dolphins take an amazing rusher and the Chiefs… just wait until you see what they do. I guess I’m a pretty bold general manager huh?
. Running Back. Georgia. Todd Gurley. 17. player. 59
