Oregon. Marcus Mariota. 1. player. 48.
Okay, so in this mock draft I am the general manager for each team, and Marcus Mariota is my number one quarterback. Therefore with the first overall pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take Mariota to revitalize their franchise. Mariota is the most talented passer in this draft class and he will be a superstar in the NFL.

Mariota may be from the Oregon spread offense, but he actually has better mechanics than that of Jameis Winston. Mariota reminds me of Aaron Rodgers. That doesn’t mean that he’ll be amazing right away, but it is a pretty good indication of a bright future. Mariota does a great job of extending the play with his legs, while remaining a passer. So many big plays come from this ability, and he avoids many negative plays.

Mariota is a superb athlete. He gives his receivers a chance to make plays, being good with the back shoulder throws and putting the ball where only they can get it. What Mariota does better than anybody in this draft class is playing consistently. Winston is a clutch player, who is great in the final two minutes of a game; Mariota plays that way the entire game.

With Mariota under center (and yes he’ll be fine under center) the Buccaneers are on their way to greener pastures. With Vincent Jackson, Mike Evans and Austin Seffarian-Jenkins as the Bucs three big play targets, Mariota will have plenty to work with in the coming years.
. Quarterback
