6. Jameis Winston, QB Florida State Seminoles
James Winston is the only quarterback on my list. The reason being, he will likely be one of only two rookies quarterbacks to start in 2015. The other being Marcus Mariota. Mariota to me looks like a rookie that will need time to develop. Even if Mariota reaches his extremely high ceiling, it will not happen until after his rookie season. Therefor making Mariota not an attractive pick from a fantasy standpoint.
Getting back to Winston. That’s not to say that Winston will reach his ceiling during his rookie season, but instead that Jameis Winston is a prospect who should be solid from the start. For a rookie, Winston is very far along in his maturation, and could help your team right away in a limited role.
Winston likely fits in best as a late round back up quarterback with potential. If you can manage to draft Winston late in your draft, I think you’ll do well. Think of Winston as a high upside, bye week starter.
