Round 1, Pick 9 – Brandon Scherff – OL – Iowa – 6’5” 320 lbs.
The offensive line has been a detriment for some time. The Giants must fix the offensive line if they are to be a contender once again. Scherff is a big mauler who would instantly upgrade the Giants pathetic run game and round out an offense that finally starting clicking towards the end of 2014.
His tendency to attack pass rushers is another huge plus. Scherff brings to the table. Keeping Eli Manning upright and healthy is paramount for success in New York. Scherff would solidify the line, regardless of where he played. He has the versatility to play guard or tackle.
Scherff has the potential to be a staple for the G-Men for the next decade. He is the best lineman in this draft and should be available at #9. If available the Giants absolutely must pick this prospect. Filling a need and drastically improving a pitfall of your team is not often done in the same move. It can be done here.
