Round 2, Pick 40 – Eric Rowe – DB – Utah – 6’1” 205 lbs.

Rowe spent time at both corner and safety in college and that versatility would come in handy for a secondary that has only 2 safeties on the roster and suffered season ending injuries to 3 of the top 4 corners last season. It may be a reach that he is still available at #40 but if he is he would be an excellent addition to Big Blue.

There has been talk of Rowe changing positions when he gets to the NFL, if that is the case he could move to free safety to help the depleted part of the Giants roster. His versatility will be vital to his NFL career, guys who can move around tend to last a little longer and versatility is just what the Giants need.

Rowe will at least make an immediate impact on special teams. He proved to be a very physical blocker on return units for Utah and even blocked a kick last season.
