Round 4, Pick 108 – Jesse James – TE – Penn State – 6’7 260lbs.

This tight end has excellent size as both a receiver and blocker. He stays on his blocks well and will go up to make catches with defenders around. He could cause serious mismatch problems for any defense. Split him out wide or motioning him into the slot could cause nightmares for corners or even linebackers getting crack blocked.

He wouldn’t have to step in and play right away. A year to learn the offense behind a pass catching tight end in Donnell and a run blocking tight end in Daniel Fells would be great for a rookie who some think is coming out too early.

If starter Larry Donnell replicates or surpasses his play last season he will surely land a big deal elsewhere, leaving the Giants with no zero tight ends signed after this season. This kid could be a real steal in both the passing and run game.
