Round 7, Pick 227 – Anthony Harris – FS – Virginia- 6’1” 185 lbs.

With safety being an issue it wouldn’t hurt to try to find another late round value pick to come in and compete for a position on the back end of the roster. Harris is more of the pass defense safety and would fit in well as a free safety patrolling the defensive backfield.

Harris showed the ability to ballhawk in the secondary with 8 picks as a junior and showed versatility accruing 80 tackles. He proved to be an excellent tackler in the open field and added 108 tackles his senior year.

With the ability to play center field over the top of the defense as well as come down and make tackles in the box Harris would be an excellent late round pick. Frankly I cant understand why he is projected to be picked so late in this draft.
