Though I thoroughly believe the Giants need to draft offensive linemen early in this draft I only see Scherff worthy of the #9 pick. In the event that Brandon Scherff is either picked before #9 or not who the Giants want as the pick another excellent option would be defensive tackle Danny Shelton from Washington. The 6’2” 340 pound lineman would team up with Johnathan Hankins in the middle of the defensive line and instantly form a dynamic run stuffing duo.

Shelton plays with a motor that never stops. His constant hustle and tendency to follow plays down the field is characteristic of a playmaker; always putting himself around the football. His presence would beef up the defensive line rotation that defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo loves to use.

Shelton along with Hankins, veteran Cullen Jenkins, and free agent acquisition Kenrick Ellis make up a defensive tackle unit that should greatly improve a run defense that was ranked dead last in yards allowed per carry (4.9) and an equally putrid 30th in yards allowed per game last season.
