The Dallas Cowboys Draft Needs:
The Cowboys need two things from this draft. First they need to find a running back that can be as dominant as DeMarco Murray was in the 2014 season. Secondly they must replace the pass rush they were expecting from the suspended Gregg Hardy. If they accomplish these two goals, the draft will have been somewhat of a success. The Cowboys (as much as we hate to admit it) are going to be good in 2015, they can afford to take the best player available for the most part.
The two best running backs could very well be gone before the Cowboys pick at the 27th slot. This was the case in my Final Mock Draft. The Cowboys took Alvin Dupree, the pass rusher from Kentucky. This solved their need for a pass rusher. Dupree would also be a good value pick as I have Dupree as the 26th best player available.
In the second round of the final mock draft the Cowboys selected T.J. Yeldon. Yeldon of course is the powerful running back from the Alabama Crimson Tide. That’s all the Cowboys really need. They have a dominant offensive line that makes gaping holes for the running back. Yeldon is a quick back with a little make you miss in him that allows big plays to happen.
The Cowboys have very many options in the draft but they have two major needs. This is just one route they could take to getting these needs addressed. If they get a decent player on the edge of their defense and a running back, they will be able to scoop up whomever they like with a best player available mindset. Two areas they could choose to address are the defensive secondary and finding another wide receiver to help Dez Bryant rule the roost.
