With all the rumors swirling about Eli Manning’s contract, this may be the best time for the New York Giants to consider drafting a quarterback. Although the Giants have Ryan Nassib as back-up to Eli Manning the Giants need to start thinking about a future franchise quarterback. Here are two good prospects that you can draft after the first round.

Bryce Petty is a big 6-3 and 230 lbs. quarterback from Baylor College. He’s a tough and strong player that can run out of the pocket and throw the ball. He has good footwork and balance. In his college career he threw for 29 touchdowns with 3,855 yards and only 7 interceptions. In 2014 Petty rushed for 101 yards with 6 touchdowns.

Petty had great combine numbers he ran a 40 yard dash in 4.87 seconds. Petty has the potential to be a starting quarterback one day. He would fit in great with the Giants and offensive coordinator, Ben McAdoo. Petty was built for the west coast offense.

Cody Fajardo is a 6’1 223lbs. quarterback from Nevada. He’s a great runner. Fajardo displayed strong confidence and mental toughness. Fajardo can take hits from opponents without being rattled.

In his college career he’s thrown for 9,000 yards with 3,000 rushing yards. At this year’s combine Fajardo ran a 40 yard dash in 4.63 seconds. Fajardo is a tough player with a great personality and he is coachable. He would fit into the Giants offense as a great back up who could eventually be a starter.

These are two options the Giants should consider in the 2015 NFL Draft. They have other needs but you always have to be prepared at the quarterback position.
