This simply means the Saints are actively looking for Brees’s successor before it is too late. If there is any offense that is perfect for Petty it is Sean Payton’s offense which creatively spreads targets all over the field. Petty has plenty of arm talent and he is an older, more experienced quarterback. With a few seasons sitting behind Brees, Payton bets he can mold Petty into an NFL field general. If you thought Payton was on the hot seat, so he won’t make a move for the long term think again. If the Saints get rid of Payton their owner and GM need to be institutionalized in a wall with padded walls.</p>. Quarterback
