4. New York Giants Trade Down

In this scenario, a potential wild card team has to make them an offer. Of course this event would only happen if Mariota manages to fall within the Giants’ grasp. I firmly believe the Browns will make a significant push for Mariota. So let’s say they offer the Giants a very generous pair of first round picks.

Unless the deal is substantial, the Jerry Reese and the Giants won’t even give it a chance. It’s not the Giants’ style to make draft day trades like this, it would take a serious deal to draw them in.

If the Browns ship the Giants their 12th and 19th overall picks, the Giants have a multitude of options to choose from. My best guess would be that they address their biggest weaknesses. With the 12th overall pick they would draft Danny Shelton, a player that could significantly boost their pass rush.

Now that the pass rush has been taken care of, it only makes sense for the Giants to fix the gaping hole they have at safety. The Giants would draft Landon Collins with the 19th overall pick. This could end up being one of the biggest drafts for the Giants in history. They would automatically become a contender with these two monster picks.
