Vincent Rapisardi | Staff Writer | Pick: Andrus Peat

At the end of the day, I feel Andrus Peat is a Giant with the 9th overall pick. I still feel like they aren’t sold on Justin Pugh playing right tackle, and would feel more comfortable with him playing inside at the guard position. Last year, the team went with safe and cerebral picks. All of whom were team captains at their respective schools.

Peat, being from Stanford, brings that cerebral aspect that the Giants are looking for. He excels as a run-blocker which is a department the Giants really struggled in last season. He also displays all the physical tools to be a starter for years to come on this Giants offensive line. I wouldn’t be surprised if he eventually moves over to the blindside and takes Will Beatty‘s spot in the near future. I think he fits the team’s vision going forward.
