3. Washington Redskins: Brandon Scherff

The Redskins got a good player but I cannot stand this pick. First off I had Scherff as the 17th ranked player on the board. Secondly Leonard Williams, the best player (at a position of need) was sitting there for the Redskins.

You don’t draft a guard with the 5th overall selection in the draft so it looks like they expect Scherff to be an offensive tackle. Scherff struggles with speed off the edge and is much more equipped to be a guard. The Redskins took Scherff too high and they probably won’t use him at his best position.

The Redskins got a good player, but they needed to draft Williams there. They could have made an argument for Kevin White, who went two spots later. The Redskins past on Williams and White who got picked with the sixth and seventh picks. Scherff wasn’t even the best player on the board. I don’t understand this pick whatsoever.
