Round Two: SS Landon Collins

This has to be one of the biggest draft steals so far. A potential top ten talent fell right into the second round of the draft. The Giants were determined to grab Collins and traded up to draft him. Trading up is something the Giants hardly ever do, but this time it was completely justified.

With Flowers and Collins, the Giants gained two first round talents instead of a first and second round talent. Like Flowers, Collins is a huge candidate to be a starter come week one. He is referred to be many analysts as one of the “pro-ready” prospects in the draft.

Reese made a huge score with this pick because the Giants may not have had a starting caliber safety on the roster before this. Collins is capable to step right in and make an impact for a defense that desperately needs it.

Collins is going to be huge in the Giants’ defensive scheme. It’s basically like the Giants having the younger version of Antrel Rolle once again. This pick made the Giants’ a definite playoff contender.
