2. What Impact Will Collins Have Right Away?

Collins is not your typical in the box safety. In the box he is physical and he can make plays in the backfield, but he also has great cover skills and versatility. Collins will make plays all over the field. Collins will be a thorn in every opposing offensive coordinator’s side. They will have to game plan around his play making ability.

The number one impact of Collins though is without a doubt the toughness he brings. Defense is about toughness, imposing your will on the opponent and shutting down their attack without mercy. Collins brings a swagger to the defense, that needs it desperately. Collins was a leader on one of the toughest defenses in college football at Alabama. He will earn respect right away and will be a leader of the team.

The Giants traded up to get Collins for a reason. His do-it-all ability will help a defense that ranked near the bottom of the league in 2014. Collins will help stop the run. Collins will cause problems in opponent’s intermediate and short passing games. Collins, being the playmaker that he is will provide a few forced fumbles and interceptions.
